Job summary

Child Development Schools is seeking a dedicated childcare cook to support the health and wellbeing of the children in our care. You will prepare nutritious meals and snacks in accordance with CACFP guidelines, follow safety and sanitation standards, accommodate dietary restrictions, and assist with kitchen operations in a fast-paced center environment.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED is required.
• Ability to pass a background check.
• Valid food handler's permit (or ability to obtain one prior to start).
• Experience in food preparation, kitchen operations, or food service.
• Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and manage meal timing for multiple classrooms.
• Physical ability to stand for extended periods, lift, and work with heat.

Responsibilities

• Prepare and serve nutritious meals and snacks for children according to CACFP guidelines.
• Follow all food safety, sanitation, and storage procedures to maintain a clean kitchen.
• Accommodate dietary restrictions, allergies, and special needs for enrolled children.
• Track meal counts, food inventory, and supply needs and communicate with center leadership.
• Maintain kitchen equipment and report maintenance needs promptly.
• Support classroom staff during non-kitchen hours as needed, assisting with activities and supervision.
