Job summary

Small Hands Big Dreams of Mentor is hiring a full-time cook to prepare home-style meals for preschoolers in Mentor, OH, with a shift 7:00 a.m. to 2:30 p.m., Monday through Friday.

You will follow CACFP regulations, deliver meals to classrooms on schedule, maintain kitchen hygiene, document recipes, and accommodate allergies while building a friendly, healthy dining environment for children.

Qualifications

• Pass a criminal background check

Responsibilities

• Prepare meals according to planned menus and CACFP guidelines.
• Deliver meals to classrooms on time and maintain clean, organized kitchen areas.
• Document changes made to menus and maintain a recipe book.
• Purchase food and supplies on designated days and manage inventory.

Job Description

We are now interviewing for a full-time cook to work approximately 7:00 a.m. - 2:30 p.m. daily, excluding weekends. The cook must be able to fulfill the following:

• Effectively carrying out daily food program
• Understand and follow all CACFP regulations and guidelines
• Deliver meals to each classroom at designated time
• Collect dishes from each classroom in a timely manner
• Follow planned menus
• Document changes made to menus on the center menu
• Maintain kitchen and ensure cleaning/ and sanitizing schedule is followed
• Write and maintain a recipe book of all recipes used
• Maintain organization of foods and inventory
• Cut any foods that are potential choking hazards for children before delivery
• Provide to classrooms utensils for serving and cutting
• Prepare meals and serves at center events
• Provide food alternates to children with allergies
• Place food and supply order on Mondays or designated day
• Maintain healthful procedures
