Responsibilities

  • Oversee day-to-day operations of the childcare center
  • Ensure adherence to NJ Child Care licensing requirements and renewals
  • Enforce center policies and procedures with staff and families
  • Maintain positive rapport with staff through daily interactions
  • Schedule, supervise, and mentor approximately 25 staff
  • Staff staffing to meet required ratios and reassign part-time staff as needed
  • Coordinate staffing and classroom schedules
  • Conduct monthly staff meetings and annual training
  • Recruit, interview, and train new staff
  • Plan monthly calendars and weekly lessons
  • Ensure developmentally appropriate curriculum in all classrooms
  • Coordinate events and fundraisers
  • Arrange continuing education opportunities for staff (min 20 hours annually)
  • Maintain and order craft supplies
  • Conduct facility tours and parent meetings
  • Document concerns and incidents; communicate with parents
  • Review and approve forms for parents

An established state of the art facility Child Learning Centerfor over 20 years is looking for a director that will come in and take charge!

Are you that person?

As an experienced childcare director, you know this is a full-time job with the hours always changing.

You will oversee the day to day operations of our childcare centers while demonstrating exceptional professional conduct and consideration for the educational development, safety, and welfare of the children and staff.

In order for us to consider you for this position, you mustpossess previous experience working as Director in an early childhood education setting.

Responsibilities of the position include but are not limited to:

  • Overseeing the day to day operations of the childcare center providing exceptional care for children ages 6 weeks to 13 years
  • Ensuring adherence to all requirements of N.J.A.C. Manual of Requirements for Child Care Centers including renewal of State Child Care License
  • Ensuring staff and parent adherence to all center policies and procedures outlined in Parent and Employee Handbooks
  • Creating a positive rapport with all staff members through daily interactions
  • Scheduling, supervising, observing, evaluating, and mentoring staff of approximately 25 employees
  • Arranging staff to ensure ratios are being met at all times -- dismissing part-time staff when no longer needed
  • Staffing the center
  • Conducting and documenting daily classroom observation logs to aid in compiling monthly classroom room meeting agendas
  • Planning and conducting monthly staff room meetings and annual staff training workshop(s)
  • Recruiting, interviewing, hiring applicants and assisting in training new staff members
  • Completing initial and annual staff evaluation forms/meetings
  • Planning weekly academic calendar themes/topics of focus to create monthly classroom calendars
  • Approving and creating individual class monthly calendars
  • Approving individual class weekly lesson plans
  • Ensuring the implementation of a developmentally appropriate curriculum in all classrooms
  • Coordinating special events and fundraisers
  • Arranging and advertising continuing education opportunities for staff
  • Completing 20 hours of continuing education annually
  • Arranging and advertising public events
  • Keeping craft supply inventory and ordering supplies
  • Conducting facility tours
  • Creating a positive rapport with all parents through daily interactions
  • Addressing and documenting any concerns or incidents regarding children, parents, and/or staff
  • Arranging and supervising parent/teacher meetings and providing parents with guidance and resources when necessary
  • Reviewing and approving all forms to parents
