Job summary

Chambliss Center for Children in Chattanooga is seeking a part-time Teacher Assistant to join our Weekend Days team. You’ll support a mixed-age group (ages 3–12) during Saturday and Sunday shifts and help maintain a safe, engaging environment for children while they learn and play.

Requirements include a High School Diploma, ability to pass a fingerprint background screening, CPR/First Aid certification, and childcare experience.

Teacher Assistant - Weekend Days (Extended Early Childhood Education)

Looking for flexible, rewarding weekend work in childcare? Chambliss Center for Children is seeking Teacher Assistants to join our extended hours team on a part-time and as-needed basis. We provide 24/7/365 care for children up to age 12, and this role covers weekend daytime shifts with a mixed-age group of children ages 3-12. You'll help create a safe, fun, and nurturing environment where kids of all ages can learn, play, and thrive. Pay: Starts around $12 with a high school education; more depending on education and experience.

Schedule: Saturday and Sunday day shifts, 8am-6pm for assigned shifts

Requirements:

• High School Diploma or equivalent required.
• Ability to pass a fingerprint background screening.
• Childcare experience required; experience with mixed-age groups (preschool through school-age) strongly preferred.
• Current CPR/First Aid certification.
• Passion for working with children and families.

Key Responsibilities:

• Oversees the care of children while on duty during weekend day shifts.
• Supervises an assigned mixed-age group of children (ages 3-12) indoors and outdoors.
• Plans and leads age-appropriate activities that engage both younger and older children.
• Maintains an orderly classroom.
• Maintains a positive and cooperative relationship with all staff, parents, and volunteers of the agency.
