Child Development Schools North Carolina LLC is seeking an Assistant Teacher in Wilson, North Carolina. You will support the Lead Teacher in delivering engaging, age‑appropriate activities and help maintain a safe, welcoming classroom environment for young learners.

You will interact with children, observe development, and communicate with families while contributing to a collaborative teaching team dedicated to safe, nurturing early childhood education.

• At least 18 years old and able to pass a background check.
• Strong communication skills and the ability to build relationships with families.
• Genuine care for children and commitment to safety and well‑being.
• Physical ability to meet the demands of working with young children.
• High school diploma or GED required; ECE coursework is a plus.

Assistant Teacher -- Wilson, North Carolina

Your role

As an Assistant Teacher at Child Development Schools, you will help create a classroom filled with discovery, creativity, learning, and joy. Working alongside your Lead Teacher, you will support young learners through meaningful experiences that encourage curiosity, confidence, kindness, and growth. From hands‑on activities and storytelling to everyday learning moments, you will help shape a warm and welcoming environment where children feel safe, supported, and excited to explore the world around them.

You will serve as a trusted partner to families, a positive role model for children, and an important part of our collaborative teaching team dedicated to making early childhood education engaging, nurturing, safe, and fun.

What your day looks like:

• Support the Lead Teacher in delivering age‑appropriate lessons and activities for the classroom
• Help maintain a safe, clean, and organized classroom that meets licensing and ratio requirements
• Engage directly with children during activities, meals, transitions, and outdoor time
• Observe children and share developmental notes with the Lead Teacher
• Build relationships with families through warm, consistent daily communication
• Assist with classroom documentation including attendance and daily reports

Pay and benefits

Pay: 13-15 per hour, based on experience and education.

A degree or coursework in Early Childhood Education and prior experience in a licensed childcare center are a plus, but not required . We hire for character and train for skill.
