Entry Level Position

Hours: Monday through Friday: All shifts are available (Morning, afternoon & evening)

Job Summary:

Under the support and direction of the Lead Teacher, assists in the operations of an assigned classroom to ensure Celebree mission, vision and values are upheld, and children are provided with a developmentally age-appropriate learning environment.

Responsibilities

As a Childcare Assistant Teacher, you will be given the tools, resources, and training to:

• Assist in managing the classroom, ensuring compliance with all regulations, company standards, policies and procedures
• Provides a welcoming and friendly classroom environment for children, parents & visitors
• Assist in maintaining attractive and current classroom/hallway displays and an educational parent board (update regularly)
• Assist in managing effective classroom transitions and conducting name to face counts every 30 minutes
• Attend all staff meetings, training and staff events as required
• Identifies opportunities and/or problems in the classroom/school and works with Lead Teacher and Director to resolve
• Communicates effectively with parents, e.g., greeting by name, addressing concerns in a timely manner, giving positive feedback, and providing regular updates on their child’s development and classroom happenings
• Assist in completing all classroom paperwork
• Assist and supervise children during all activities; counsels’ children as needed using positive and appropriate discipline techniques including Conscious Discipline
• Assist with implementing, age-appropriate lesson plans in a safe, nurturing learning environment in accordance with the Celebree School curriculum

Qualifications:

• This position requires entry level knowledge and understanding of behavioral and developmental stages of children; beginning knowledge of State licensing regulations; ability to assist in the management of a classroom including strong organizational, communication (verbal and written) and problem-solving skills; patience, flexibility.

Experience:

• Teaching: 1 year (Required or Preferred)
• Childcare: 1 year (Required or Preferred)

License/Certification:

• Child Development Associate (Preferred)
• Associate’s degree in human services field or early childhood education (Preferred)

Physical Demands:

The physical demands are representative of those that must be met by an employee to successfully perform the essential functions of the job. The job requires frequent bending, squatting, reaching, lifting and carrying; ability to lift 50 pounds.

Specific Skills:

Certification in CPR & First Aid. Ability and flexibility in working with various age groups.
