Job summary

Chambliss Center for Children in Chattanooga is seeking part-time Teacher Assistants to join our team on an as-needed basis. The role includes overnight shifts seven nights a week and weekend coverage to ensure safe, nurturing care for children up to age 12.

Starting pay is $11/hour with a High School diploma and no prior child care experience; $13/hour with a CDA; $14.50 with an Associate's Degree. Schedule is 6pm–7am for assigned shifts.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or equivalent required.
• Must be at least 18 years of age.
• Ability to pass a fingerprint background screening.
• Childcare experience required.
• Passion for working with children and families.

Responsibilities

• Oversees the care of children when on duty, overnight or weekends.
• Supervises assigned group of children indoors and outdoors.
• Maintains an orderly classroom.
• Maintains a positive and cooperative relationship with all staff, parents, and volunteers of the agency.
• Performs other duties assigned by the Lead Teacher and the Executive Director or Associate Directors of Extend Child Care.
