Job summary

Cornerstone Learning Center – Oakland in Oakland, TN, is seeking an Assistant Director to join our leadership team. The role supports the Center Director in daily operations, helps develop programs for child growth and staff development, and handles enrollment and licensing compliance.

The ideal candidate holds a HS diploma or GED, has a CDA or an Associate’s in ECE, experience as a Lead Teacher, and some supervisory experience. The center offers competitive pay and benefits.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED required.
• CDA or Associate’s degree in Early Childhood Education or related field.
• Experience in a licensed childcare facility as a Lead Teacher.
• Managerial or supervisory experience in a childcare setting strongly preferred.
• Strong knowledge of state licensing regulations and early childhood best practices.

Responsibilities

• Support the Center Director in daily operations and center management.
• Assist in developing and implementing programs that support child growth and staff development.
• Conduct enrollment activities, including family tours and marketing efforts.
• Ensure state and company licensing compliance through regular checks.
• Guide teaching staff in curriculum development and classroom organization.
• Foster strong, professional relationships with families and staff.
• Physically able to engage with children, including lifting (up to 40 lbs), walking, sitting, running, and using stairs.
