Job summary

The Sunshine House in Kentucky seeks a Childcare Assistant Director to help run daily operations, ensure licensing compliance, and support teachers in delivering high-quality early childhood education.

You will engage with families, conduct tours, maintain records, and support curriculum implementation, all while promoting a collaborative, nurturing learning environment.

Qualifications

• Associate’s degree in early childhood education or related field preferred.
• EDU119 or NCECC certificate required.
• Completion of Admin 1 & 2 coursework and experience managing a licensed childcare centre preferred.
• Previous experience working in a licensed childcare centre setting as an administrator required.
• Proficient computer skills in Microsoft Office.

Responsibilities

• Help manage the daily operations of childcare school, ensuring licensing requirements and policies are met.
• Perform administrative duties, give tours to families, maintain records, and ensure compliance.
• Partner with families to provide the best care and education for children.
• Support teachers in curriculum implementation and developmentally appropriate classrooms.
• Foster positive relationships with families, teachers, licensing reps and the community.
• Work in the classroom when needed to assist staff.

Compensation & Pay Range

$19-$22 per hour (based on education, experience, and credentials).
Candidates with advanced education and experience in early childhood education may qualify for higher pay within the range. Regular increases are considered with additional education, stellar performance, and years of service.

Assistant Director Responsibilities

• Help manage the daily operations of childcare school, ensuring we meet state licensing requirements and company policies.
• Perform administrative duties, give impactful tours to families, maintain records, ensure state licensing/policy compliance, and help keep everything running smoothly.
