Job summary

The Sunshine House Early Learning Academy in Mount Pleasant, SC seeks an Assistant Director to help manage daily operations, support licensing compliance, and partner with families to provide high-quality care and education.

You will assist teachers with curriculum implementation, engage with families and licensing representatives, and contribute to a collaborative, growth-focused team.

Qualifications

• Degree in early childhood education or related field preferred.
• At least 1 year management experience in a licensed childcare setting.
• Proficient in Microsoft Office and other business programs.
• Must be at least 21 years old.

Responsibilities

• Help manage the daily operations of the childcare school, ensuring licensing compliance and policies.
• Perform administrative duties, give impactful tours to families, maintain records.
• Ensure state licensing compliance and smooth day-to-day operations.
• Partner with families to provide high-quality care and education for their children.
• Support teachers in implementing our curriculum and developmentally appropriate classrooms.
• Nurture positive relationships with families, staff, licensing representatives, and the community.
• Work in the classroom when needed to assist and support staff.

Compensation & Pay Range:

Competitive based on education and previous management experience

Candidates with advanced education and experience in early childhood education may qualify for higher pay within the range. Regular increases are considered with additional education, stellar performance, and years of service.

Assistant Director Responsibilities:

• Help manage the daily operations of childcare school, ensuring we meet state licensing requirements and company policies
• Perform administrative duties, give impactful tours to families, maintain records, ensure state licensing/policy compliance, and help keep everything running smoothly
• Partner with families to provide the best care and education for their children
• Support teachers in implementing our curriculum, enabling developmentally appropriate classrooms that spark curiosity and growth
• Nurture positive relationships with families, teachers, state licensing representatives, and the community
• Work in the classroom when needed to assist and support staff

Requirements

• Degree in early childhood education or related field preferred
• Must have at least 1 year management experience working in a licensed childcare center setting
• Proficient computer skills in a variety of business-related programs, including Microsoft Office
• At least 21 years old
• A passion for providing high-quality care and education!
