Job summary

Cornerstone Learning Center – Oakland is seeking an Assistant Director to join our leadership team. If you are an energetic early childhood education professional with hands-on experience as a Lead Teacher, you could help our children thrive and families feel supported.

The role involves supporting the Center Director, developing programs, overseeing enrollment and licensing compliance, guiding staff, and fostering a warm, family-like atmosphere at our Oakland center.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED required.
• CDA or Associate’s degree in Early Childhood Education or related field.
• Experience in a licensed childcare facility as a Lead Teacher.
• Managerial or supervisory experience in a childcare setting preferred.
• Strong knowledge of state licensing regulations and early childhood best practices.

Responsibilities

• Support the Center Director in daily operations and center management.
• Assist in developing and implementing programs that support child growth and staff development.
• Conduct enrollment activities, including family tours and marketing efforts.
• Ensure state and company licensing compliance through regular checks.
• Guide teaching staff in curriculum development and classroom organization.
• Foster strong, professional relationships with families and staff.
• Physically able to engage with children, including lifting up to 40 lbs, walking, sitting, running, and using stairs.

• Schedule: Monday – Friday (varying shifts based on center needs)
• Compensation: $17 – $19 per hour (based on education and experience)
