Job summary

Macomb Family YMCA in Mount Clemens, Michigan, is hiring a Part-Time Childwatch Assistant to ensure a safe, structured, and fun experience for Child Watch and Kids Club participants.

Experience with children in a supervised setting is preferred; must be willing to work flexible hours including evenings and weekends. The role emphasizes safety, family communication, and upholding YMCA values and HEPA standards.

Qualifications

• Ability to plan, lead, and participate in Child Watch activities.

Responsibilities

• Ensures the health, safety and wellbeing of children in the program by providing close supervision of all activities.
• Maintain the appropriate staff-to-child ratios and assists in maintaining attendance records.
• Maintains a positive and respectful manner of communication with families/parents.
• Serve as a role model for all youth and staff by demonstrating YMCA core values, HEPA standards.
• Must be knowledgeable in illnesses and child abuse symptoms and procedures.
• Performs other assigned duties as directed by Supervisor.

General Function

The Childwatch Assistant will be responsible for maintaining a safe, structured, and fun program for Child Watch and Kids Club participants.

Education/Experience/Training/Certifications

Experience working with children in a supervised setting preferred.

Must be willing to work flexible hours, including evenings and weekends.
