Job summary

Good Shepherd Lutheran Services seeks a Child Care Aide to nurture and care for children under the supervision of teachers and assistants. Assist with daily activities and classroom routines, supporting each child’s development.

You will help with meals and hygiene, foster independence, and maintain a safe, clean, and engaging learning environment. Prioritize safety and positive guidance in all interactions.

Qualifications

• Must be at least 16 years old.
• Orientation and training must be completed before starting duties.
• Pass criminal background study.
• Good communication skills and patience are essential.
• Ability to stay organized and on task.

Responsibilities

• Assist in activities that stimulate children's growth—physical, emotional, intellectual, and social.
• Help children with meals, hygiene, and self-care routines.
• Greet children, assist with dress, and supervise transitions between activities.
• Maintain cleanliness and order in the classroom and sanitize toys and surfaces.
• Follow behavior plans when applicable.
