Job summary

Sheltering Arms is seeking a Teacher Aide to assist in classrooms serving infants to Pre-K. The role supports the teaching team by providing supervision, promoting healthy routines, and keeping spaces safe and organized.

Responsibilities include assisting with activities, maintaining cleanliness, and following Active Supervision to ensure child safety. Collaboration with staff and families is emphasized for child development and well‑being.

Qualifications

• High school diploma/GED with 2+ years of Early Childhood Education experience preferred.
• CDA enroll within 12 months of hire or equivalent qualifications.
• Knowledge of safety and health practices in child care.
• Ability to follow center policies and supervise children at all times.

Responsibilities

• Provide care for a group of children as part of a teaching team.
• Promote healthy eating by eating with children.
• Share routine duties and supervise on playground and during activities.
• Assist in keeping the classroom and centers neat and clean.
• Interact with children during activities and promote learning.
• Maintain Active Supervision policies to ensure safety at all times.
• Assist Lead Teacher and Teacher in assessing children’s progress.
