Job summary

The South Carolina Department of Social Services is seeking a CWS Case Manager – OHAN to conduct statewide investigations of child abuse and neglect, documenting findings and coordinating with licensing and service providers. You will prepare materials for legal review and participate in staffings with key stakeholders.

You will maintain case documentation, provide 24/7 on-call coverage, and pursue ongoing training and certifications.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Social Work, Behavioral Science, or Social Science required.
• Bachelor's degree in any field plus 1 year related experience; MSW/BSW preferred.
• Master's degree may substitute for required work experience.

Responsibilities

• Conduct statewide investigations of child abuse and neglect in institutions, foster homes, and child care facilities.
• Maintain accurate documentation meeting agency quality standards and timelines.
• Engage in scheduled case staffing with licensing agencies, contract management units, service providers, and other stakeholders.
• Plan with Office of General Counsel to prepare for appeal hearings and court actions, ensuring complete case materials.
• Provide 24-hour on-call coverage, seven days a week, on a rotating schedule.
