Job summary

State of Louisiana's Department of Children and Family Services is seeking a Child Welfare Manager 1 - CQI to oversee statewide CQI activities and supervise the CQI program staff responsible for case reviews.

You will partner with regional and parish leadership to drive improvements in practice, timeliness, and policy implementation, while ensuring staff development and adherence to state and federal requirements.

Qualifications

• Seven years of experience in child welfare, OR
• Six years of full-time work experience in any field plus four years of experience in child welfare, OR
• A bachelor’s degree plus four years of experience in child welfare, OR
• An advanced degree in a social science or behavioral health field, nursing, or a juris doctorate plus three years of experience in child welfare.

Responsibilities

• Provides administrative oversight and management for statewide CQI activities. This includes directing the activities of the CQI program through the supervision of Child Welfare Supervisors responsible for case reviews.
• Partners with regional and parish leadership to implement and revise solutions to practice challenges, supporting agency commitments to strengthen practice, improve timeliness, and ensure consistent implementation of policy across the state.
• Provides supervision and guidance to staff under their purview and leads regular meetings and conference calls with staff and stakeholders.
• Management and supervision of positions responsible for CQI activities. Duties include recruiting, selecting, and developing a talented workforce; processing paperwork; conducting interviews; and offering employment in accordance with Louisiana Civil Service Rules.
• Performs any other duties as assigned in support of the mission of OMF and DCFS, including responsibilities tied to the agency's strategic commitments, initiatives, audit implementation requirements, and system transformation efforts as directed by executive leadership.
