Job summary

State of Maryland - DHS - Social Services Administration is seeking a qualified Licensing and Compliance Specialist to oversee child placement and residential child care agencies contracted or licensed by state departments. The role ensures protection of vulnerable children and strict adherence to regulations.

The ideal candidate holds a Master’s in social work and at least seven years of professional experience, including administrative or supervisory roles, and active Maryland social work

Qualifications

• Master’s degree in social work from an accredited college or university.
• Seven years of professional experience in a social work capacity in a public or private agency or institution, four years must have been in an administrative, supervisory or consultative capacity.
• Candidates must be licensed by the Maryland Board of Social Work Examiners.

Responsibilities

• Licenses, re-licenses, and monitors agencies for compliance with state policies and directives.
• Enforces COMAR 14.31.05-.07, COMAR 07.05.01-.04, and COMAR 07.02.21 as required by law.
• Prepares quarterly assessment reports with evidence from inspections, interviews, and data analysis.
• Coordinates corrective action plans with DHS, MDH, DJS and other stakeholders.
