Job summary

The SC Department of Social Services is seeking a CWS Case Worker Assistant to provide services addressing abuse, neglect, and self-neglect of vulnerable individuals. You will support Case Worker II/III with administrative and casework tasks and help coordinate resources for clients.

You will assist with transportation, records requests, referrals, and family group conferencing, while maintaining strict PI I handling and contributing to team planning.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma and one year or more of child welfare relevant program experience.
• Associate Degree or higher may be substituted for all or part of the work requirements.

Responsibilities

• Remedy abuse, neglect, exploitation or self-neglect of adults or children unable to protect themselves.
• Provide or arrange transportation to resources in the community as a part of social service aide plan.
• Participate as a member of a professional team to plan services for clients.
• Make requests for educational, medical, dental, law enforcement records; conducts CLEAR search.
• Make referrals to service providers; send referrals for family group conferencing.
• Assist with other administrative support functions to include correspondences, copy, fax, email etc.
• Perform shelter/emergency response duties when needed and as directed (FTE only).
• Ensure that personal identifying information (PII) is properly used, accessed, gathered, shared and disposed.
