Job summary

Saint Francis Ministries is seeking a dedicated caseworker to conduct comprehensive assessments, coordinate kinship placements, and develop permanency plans with families across Kansas. The role involves facilitating family meetings, collaborating with courts, and ensuring timelines are met for reunification or other permanency outcomes.

The position requires a social work or human service degree, licensure in Kansas where possible, and valid driving credentials.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in social work or human service field from an accredited college or university.
• License to practice in the State of Kansas preferred.
• Prefer two years’ experience working with children/youth and families.
• Must pass a drug screen, MVR, KBI, Child Abuse & Neglect Central Registry Clearance check and an Adult Registry Check.
• FBI fingerprint check.
• Lifting Requirements of 50 lbs.
• Must have a valid driver’s license, acceptable driving record, and reliable transportation.

Responsibilities

• Completes initial and ongoing assessments by gathering information from children, their families, and collaterals.
• May be responsible for initial contact of children and subsequent placement.
• Research and recommend possible kinship placements, giving them priority, whenever viable.
• Facilitates and coordinates family meetings.
• Develops and implements case plans and permanency goals with children and families, ensuring that goals are reached within established time frames.
