Job summary

Saint Francis Ministries is seeking a dedicated Social Services Professional to perform comprehensive assessments and develop case plans for children and families in Kansas. You will coordinate kinship placements, support foster families, and participate in court proceedings as required.

The role requires a Bachelor’s in social work or related field, two years’ experience preferred, and the ability to travel within the state. A driver’s license and background checks are mandatory.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in social work or human service field from an accredited college or university.
• Prefer Kansas licensure or ability to practice in Kansas.
• Prefer two years’ experience working with children/youth and families.
• Must be 21 years of age and able to pass background checks.

Responsibilities

• Completes initial and ongoing assessments by gathering information from children, families, and collaterals.
• May be responsible for initial contact of children and subsequent placement.
• Research and recommend kinship placements and prioritize them when viable.
• Facilitates and coordinates family meetings and develops permanency goals with timely outcomes.
• Determines services needed for child and family, including mental health and related supports.
• Supports kinship and foster families to maintain placements toward permanency.
• Assists with court proceedings, documents, and court-related orders as needed.
• On-call rotation to address urgent issues outside regular hours and travel across the State as required.
