We are hiring a full-time Child Welfare Specialist to provide comprehensive casework to ensure the safety and well-being of children, coordinating with families, schools and healthcare providers, and adhering to state mandates and agency policies.

Position requires a Bachelor’s degree in social work or related field, 1 year of experience, and

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in social work or related human services field is required.
• Minimum of 1 year related experience.
• State licensing/certification as required by Illinois DCFS.
• CWEL or ability to obtain required.
• CERAP training required.
• Training in KEEP and/or GenerationsPMTO or ability to participate in training.
• CCS Bootcamp completion required.
• Client-Centered Service Planning and Aftercare Planning training.
• Demonstrated ability to motivate families and youth to participate in interventions.
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
• Proficient in Microsoft Office (Outlook, Word, Excel, PowerPoint).
• Background check clearance (criminal and CANTS).
• Valid driver’s license and reliable transportation.
• Proof of IL minimum liability insurance.

Responsibilities

• Complete and submit all required reports and billing timely as required.
• Participate in supervision for guidance and case staffing.
• Coordinate with schools and healthcare facilities to support child well-being.
• Assess family service needs and link to community resources.
• Ensure child safety during service delivery.
• Provide strength-based case management to address risks to children.
• Advocate with medical or governmental institutions.
