Lutheran Social Services of Illinois (LSSI) is seeking qualified candidates for a frontline position focused on child welfare support. The role emphasizes collaboration with families, schools, and healthcare partners to promote child well-being.

Responsibilities include accurate reporting, service planning, resource linkage, and advocacy to ensure safety and positive outcomes for children, with comprehensive benefits for full-time staff.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in social work or related human services field.
• Minimum of 1 year of related experience.
• State licensing/certification as required by Illinois DCFS.
• CWEL or ability to obtain required.
• CERAP required.
• Participation in KEEP and/or GenerationsPMTO training or willingness to participate.
• Completion of CCS Bootcamp.
• Completion of Client-Centered Service Planning and Aftercare Planning Training.
• Ability to motivate families, youth and foster parents to participate in interventions.
• Strong written and verbal communication skills.
• Proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite.

Responsibilities

• Complete and submit all required reports, documentation and billing accurately and timely.
• Participate in supervisory process for guidance, direction, support and approval of decision making, assessment, service planning and intervention.
• Coordinate and collaborate with other service providers, schools and healthcare facilities to promote the child(ren)’s well-being.
• Assess family service needs.
• Provide linkage to community resources to remediate problems and prevent abuse or neglect and verify participation.
• Ensure child safety and well-being during service delivery.
• Provide strength-based case management to facilitate resolution of challenges.
• Advocacy with medical or governmental institutions.
