Job summary

Community YMCA in Lansdowne is seeking caring, dependable, and energetic individuals to join our Child Watch team. Staff provide a safe, welcoming environment for children while caregivers utilize our YMCA.

Hours include Monday-Thursday 5:30pm-8:45pm and Saturday 7:30am-1:00pm. If you enjoy working with children and creating a positive experience for families, we'd love to have you join our team!

Qualifications

• Minimum 18 years of age.
• 1) 3 months on-the-job training or 1–2 years working with small children.
• Must enjoy working with children.
• CPR/AED and Pediatric First Aid certifications within 30 days of hire.
• Complete required trainings.
• Ability to relate to diverse groups in the community.

Responsibilities

• Safely supervise and care for children in the Child Watch area.
• Interact directly with children and engage them in activities.
• Keep the Child Watch room clean and organized.
• Follow sign-in and sign-out procedures at all times.
• Maintain registration cards for all children using the service.
• Use positive guidance in line with YMCA values.
• Build positive relationships with families.
• Attend trainings and staff meetings as required.
• Maintain professional appearance and adhere to policies.
