Job summary

The YMCA of Greater Brandywine in Kennett Square, PA is seeking a Part Time Child Watch Associate and Birthday Party Associate. You will provide a safe, caring environment for children in YMCA care and partner with your supervisor to create fun, engaging birthday experiences, while engaging with parents and kids to support the YMCA mission.

Responsibilities include supervising children's safety, maintaining organized records, greeting families by name, and following YGBW policies.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED preferred.
• Must be at least 15 years of age or older.
• Experience with children preferred.
• Obtain and maintain all additional new hire certifications and trainings within 90 days of hire.

Responsibilities

• Oversee the safety and whereabouts of the children in the group at all times, providing a safe, interactive program.
• Maintain a clean and risk-free room arrangement.
• Maintain records, including, (but not limited to): accident and incident reports, sign in/out sheets, attendance records.
• Greet parents and children daily using names in all interactions.
• Report and/or direct parental concerns to supervisor.
• Use positive, age-appropriate behavior management tools, including redirection and positive reinforcement, using the Y voice at all times.
• Ensure compliance with all YGBW policies and standard operating procedures.
• Perform other related duties as assigned.

The Child Watch Associate is responsible for providing a safe and caring environment for children while in YMCA care. The Birthday Party Associate works with their supervisor to create a fun and engaging birthday at the YMCA. Engages with parents and children in a positive way in both Child Watch and during birthday parties to further the mission of the YMCA of Greater Brandywine.
