Clermont County, Ohio is seeking a Child Support Investigator 3 to enforce court orders, establish paternity and medical support, and conduct thorough investigations. You will collect data, interview clients and witnesses, and coordinate with multiple agencies.
Work entails handling sensitive inquiries, presenting testimony, and maintaining case records across CMD/EDMS/OBWP and SETS systems. Strong research and communication skills are essential.

Core Business Hours: Monday - Friday, 8:0 am - 4:30 pm

Probationary Period: 180 Days
Salary: Negotiable depending on qualifications/experience (Minimum $19.07 an hour)

Collects information and makes determination of necessary actions regarding the establishment and/or enforcement of court orders (e.g., contempt, arrears, emancipations, credits, wage withholdings, over payments, entries, agreed entries, FIDM, liens, drivers’ license suspension, bench warrants, administrative and judicial processes, IRS offset, criminal non-support, and Interstate.) Establishes paternity, support, and medical support orders. Modify support orders. Utilizes location techniques and/or conduct thorough investigations. Collects evidence and information by interviewing clients and witnesses, request and document types of service, and a variety of other investigative techniques. Conducts case investigations and collateral investigations with various local, state and federal agencies. Investigative work performed at the agency. Completes reports to manage caseload and collection activity. Responds to customer inquiries. Provides necessary consultation with caseworkers, attorneys, other jurisdictions and supervisors. Uses internal computer systems (CMD/EDMS/OBWP and/or SETS) and system reports to retrieve and research information; and performs data entry to transfer cases within the SETS system. Enter data into CMD for follow up on pending work responsibilities.
Provides assistance, training, development and/or consultation to new employees and current staff. Makes suggestions/recommendations in development of investigative procedures and practices. Completes special projects as assigned. Prepares, attends and/or presents testimony for judicial and local/state administrative hearings. Attends meetings and training sponsored by county, state and federal agencies. Completes some administrative and statistical reports.
Works alone or with other persons in short or long-term team projects to resolve problems or conflicts in any area of operations or to complete assigned projects at the direction of supervisor or Department Head when assigned. Works aggressively to reduce or eliminate safety/risk concerns in current position or work location. Reports safety/risk management issues to immediate supervisor.
New and other related duties as assigned. As operational needs arise, may be required to assume additional duties of position within same classification.
Applicants must meet the minimum qualification requirements stated above. Military education and experience may be substituted for college and vocational certificate level course work on a case‑by‑case basis based on the American Council on Education (ACE) Military Guide recommendations.
