Job summary

The State of West Virginia is seeking a Child Support Trainee in Mercer County to learn entry-level financial duties related to audits of BCSE cases and allocations.

You will verify data in case files and the automated system, review court orders, and assist with caretaker accounting and overpayments under BCSE policies.

This training position offers exposure to federal and state laws and opportunities to develop clerical and paraprofessional skills.

Qualifications

• Training: High school diploma or equivalent.
• Experience: Four (4) years of clerical and/or paraprofessional experience.
• Substitution: 1 year of college equals 30 credit hours of education.
• Special Requirement: Vehicle availability may be a requisite of employment.

Responsibilities

• Learn to perform entry-level financial duties necessary to conduct audits of BCSE cases.
• Verify data in the physical case file and automated database affecting allocation and distribution of payments.
• Review valid legal documents and court orders for accuracy in BCSE systems.
• Perform caretaker accounting to calculate amounts owed and address overpayments/refunds.
• Provide explanations of cases financial work upon request by staff.
