Job summary

OKDHS in Muskogee, Oklahoma is seeking a Child Support Specialist I/II to initiate and process child support enforcement caseloads. The position is full-time with full state employee benefits and requires valid driver's license for occasional travel.

Salary begins at $36,811.95 for Level I and $39,571.76 for Level II, with benefits. Education ranges from a bachelor’s degree to advanced degrees depending on level; responsibilities include review, negotiation, and case management.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree or an equivalent combination of education and experience for Specialist I.
• Specialist II requires a bachelor’s degree and one year of relevant experience; or advanced degree; or associate degree plus two years; or ABA-paralegal program with two years of experience.

Responsibilities

• Review, analyze, and evaluate child support cases for establishment and enforcement actions.
• Prepare records of payment, legal pleadings, and correspondence.
• Update computer records, perform locate activities, document case activity.
• Negotiate settlements and agreed orders.
• Mediate between parties and resolve issues relating to child support payments.
• Monitor and manage case log, and other duties as assigned.

Education

Bachelor's degree

Associate degree in Legal Assistance or paralegal education

Associate degree in Public Service – Legal Case Management

ABA-approved paralegal education program
