Job description

This position is located in Oklahoma City, Oklahoma.

Child Support Attorney I /II/III/IV

Annual Salary -Salary level depends on the experience level of the applicant chosen.

Level I (Q80A):$66,666.67 + Full State Employee Benefits

Level II (Q80B):$71,428.57 + Full State Employee Benefits

Level III (Q80C):$76,190.48 + Full State Employee Benefits

Level IV (Q80D):$85,714.29 + Full State Employee Benefits

Job-related travel is OCCASIONAL. Must possess a valid driver's license and maintain required car insurance.

Preferred Minimum Qualifications

Level I -Education and Experience requirements at this level consist of a Juris Doctor degree from an accredited law school, a license to practice law in the State of Oklahoma, and membership in the Oklahoma Bar Association.

Level II -Education and Experience requirements at this level consist of a Juris Doctor degree from an accredited law school, a license to practice law in the State of Oklahoma, an active membership in the Oklahoma Bar Association, and two years of legal experience or adjudicative experience.

Level III -Education and Experience requirements at this level consist of a Juris Doctor degree from an accredited law school, a license to practice law in the State of Oklahoma, an active membership in the Oklahoma Bar Association, and five years of legal experience or adjudicative experience.

Level IV -Education and Experience requirements at this level consist of a Juris Doctor degree from an accredited law school, a license to practice law in State of Oklahoma, an active membership with the Oklahoma Bar Association, and seven years of legal experience including two years of litigation, or agency-defined experience in the practice of law e.g. tax, or supervisory experience.

Job Responsibilities

  • Position would require daily in-person appearances at the Oklahoma County courthouse to assist the judges, private attorneys, and pro se parties of Oklahoma Child Support Services with interpretation of laws, regulations, and opinions of the court and policy.
  • Duties also include, researching existing Oklahoma Count domestic filings and dockets for child support necessary party cases or disclaimers of services, preparing and filing of pleadings and trial of cases in child support related hearings in district court, developing processes in guardianship, adoption, and domestic filing to enter child support orders or deferrals by the court and attending weekly Pro Se Divorce Clinics to resolve child support issues and prepare child support related documents.
