Department of Children and Families in Florida seeks a CHiLD PROTECTIVE INVESTIGATOR to conduct investigations into abuse and neglect, interview families, assess danger, arrange emergency placements, and coordinate with law enforcement and attorneys. A valid driver license and driving a private vehicle are required.

Certification within 12 months is mandatory. The role requires flexible hours including nights, weekends, and holidays, with salary around $50,000 annually.

Competenze

• Must have high school diploma or GED and four years of law enforcement or active military service, or an associate degree with two years of professional work experience or two years of law enforcement or active military service.
• Must obtain Florida Child Protective Investigator Certification within 12 months after provisional certification and maintain it as a condition of employment.
• Valid Driver License and operational private vehicle for work activities; proof of insurance and vehicle registration within 30 days of hire.

Mansioni

• Conduct investigations of abuse, neglect, abandonment and/or special conditions for children.
• Collect information through observation and interviews with the child, family, and others.
• Assess danger threats and caregiver protective capacities to determine child safety.
• Arrange emergency placement for a child who cannot safely remain at home.
• Notify state attorney, law enforcement and child protection teams.
• Provide families with service linkages to agency and community resources.
• Conduct initial/ongoing child present and impending danger assessments.
• Report indications of abuse or neglect to the Florida Abuse Hotline.
