Job summary

Essentia Health is seeking a Child Life Program Manager to lead development and coordination of patient and caregiver education and support programs. You will liaison with healthcare teams and community partners, applying evidence-based child development practices and data interpretation to guide outreach initiatives.

The role requires a Bachelor's degree with 3 years in acute care and Child Life Certification or ability to obtain; BCLS certification is preferred.

Qualifications

Bachelor’s degree in a related field.
3 years of related experience in an acute care children’s facility.
Child Life Professional Certification or ability to obtain within 6–12 months, with certification maintenance.

Responsibilities

Promotes development of children to optimize responses to medical care and reduce stress.
Assesses patients and families to plan interventions.
Provides opportunities for mastery, play, learning, self-expression, family involvement and peer interaction.
Advocates for children and families in ambulatory and inpatient settings.
Manages donor donations and coordinates utilization and donor relations.
Leads efforts to expand and enhance the Child Life Program through planning and resource cultivation.
Provides consultative support to Essentia departments and evaluates developmentally sensitive facilities and materials.
Coordinates and oversees volunteers in pediatric care areas.
