Job summary

Stafford County Public Schools is seeking a Coordinator of Child Find to oversee developmental screenings for children ages 2–5 and coordinate referrals and services. The role reports to the Assistant Director of Special Education and operates within Student Services.

The ideal candidate will have a bachelor's in a related field, VA teaching license eligibility in Special Education, and at least three years of relevant experience.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Early Childhood Special Education, Special Education, Early Childhood Education or related field is required.
• Master's degree preferred.
• Three (3) years of experience working with children in educational or early intervention settings.
• Hold or be eligible for Virginia teaching license with Special Education endorsement.

Responsibilities

• Plan, organize, and implement Child Find screening activities in accordance with federal, state, and division requirements.
• Administer developmental screenings for children ages 2–5 and interpret results for families.
• Maintain accurate records of screenings, referrals, and communications with families.
• Coordinate SEC meetings and participate in multidisciplinary eligibility and planning meetings.
• Collaborate with Early Childhood Special Education staff to ensure seamless transition to services for eligible children.
• Maintain compliance with Child Find requirements, including timelines and reporting.
