Base pay range

$18.50/hr - $22.60/hr

About the Role

Responsibilities
  • Create hands-on activities tailored to children's needs and interests
  • Maintain open communication with parents about their child's milestones
  • Ensure a safe and clean classroom environment following essential procedures and guidelines
  • Provide support across various classrooms or age groups as needed within the center or nearby locations
Qualifications

Candidates must pass required background checks and meet minimum education and experience requirements:

  • 18 years or older with a high school diploma or GED
  • Preferred: 1 year of teaching experience in child care, daycare, or preschool settings
  • Preferred: CDA, Associate, or bachelor's degree in early education or related field
  • Knowledge of developmentally appropriate practices (DAP) is required
  • Must meet IL state requirements to be Teacher Qualified, which includes:
    • 60 semester hours (or 90 quarter hours) in relevant coursework from an accredited college, including 6 semester or 9 quarter hours in child development (birth to age 6)

Or alternative qualifications:

  • 1 year (1560 clock hours) of child development experience plus 30 semester/45 quarter hours in relevant coursework

Or completion of approved credential programs such as CDA.

Physical Requirements & Workplace Environment

This role requires compliance with health and safety regulations, including immunizations and background checks. The employee must work in person at an early childhood center, ensuring the safety and well-being of children in accordance with policies and laws. Compensation & Benefits
