Job summary

The Learning Experience - Jenison is seeking a caring and energetic Child Care Teacher for our early childhood education team in Michigan. You will help young children learn through play, support their physical, language, and social development, and create a safe, engaging classroom environment.

We offer a competitive hourly wage of $16–$18 based on experience and credentials, a full-time Mon–Fri schedule, paid training, and opportunities for advancement within the center.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or GED required.
• Previous experience in a daycare, preschool, childcare center, or early childhood setting preferred.
• CDA or Early Childhood Education coursework is a plus.
• Patient, dependable, energetic, and team-oriented.
• Strong communication skills.
• Must meet applicable state childcare licensing requirements.

Responsibilities

• Create a warm, nurturing, and engaging environment for young children.
• Lead and support age-appropriate learning and play activities.
• Encourage language, cognitive, physical, and social-emotional development.
• Guide children through meals, rest time, outdoor play, toileting/diapering, and classroom transitions.
• Provide positive guidance and attentive supervision.
• Maintain a clean, organized, and safe classroom.
• Build positive relationships with children and families.
• Work collaboratively with fellow teachers and center leadership.
• Follow applicable childcare licensing, health, and safety requirements.
