Our Admiral Peary Child Care Center is looking to hire a Full‑time Assistant Group Supervisor in Ebensburg, PA.
Hours and Schedule
- Centers are open Monday through Friday from 6 a.m. to 6 p.m.; full‑time staff work an 8‑hour shift within these hours.

Duties and Responsibilities
- Supervision and Safety – Ensure the safety and well‑being of children at all times; supervise indoor and outdoor activities.
- Daily Care Activities – Assist with feeding, diapering, toileting, and other basic care routines; foster independence; follow the daily schedule; plan and conduct engaging educational games, arts and crafts, and other developmental activities.
- Communication – Maintain open communication with parents, provide updates, collaborate with colleagues.
- Behavior Management – Foster positive behavior with reinforcement; address challenging behaviors with patience and effective communication.
- Health and Hygiene – Monitor cleanliness and hygiene; administer basic first aid; keep accurate records of activities, incidents, and observations; document developmental milestones.
- Parental Involvement – Encourage parents to participate in communication and special events.
- Professional Development – Participate in training sessions and workshops; pursue relevant certifications and credentials.
Required Qualifications
- High School diploma or equivalent; Early Childhood Education certification is a plus.
- Previous experience with children. Volunteering or teaching experience is valued.
- Willingness to complete mandated reporter training, a physical, and a TB test.
- Ability to lift up to 40 pounds on a regular basis.
- Capacity for sitting, standing, walking, bending, and stopping for long periods during an eight‑hour day.
- Knowledge of child development and age‑appropriate activities.
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
- CPR and first aid certification.
- Patience, creativity, and a genuine love for working with children.
