Job summary

Santa Fe Recovery Center, Inc. is seeking a Childcare Specialist to supervise and engage children while mothers participate in SFRC’s residential or LAUNCH outpatient services. You will lead activities, assist with meals, and ensure safety under staff supervision.

The role emphasizes nurturing environments, compliance with SFRC policies, and collaboration with clinical teams to support educational and behavioral goals for children.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED required.
• New Mexico 45-hour Entry Level Course required.
• Associate degree in early child development preferred.
• At least one year of related experience.
• Minimum 21 years of age.
• Current CPR and First Aid certificates.
• Must have and maintain NM Driver’s License.
• Bi-lingual/bi-cultural preferred (English/Spanish).

Responsibilities

• Care for children including routines, grooming, feeding, and diapering.
• Develop age-appropriate learning and socialization.
• Monitor health, safety, and report concerns.
• Introduce art, music, sports to children.
• Provide guidance on positive behavior.
• Prepare children for next level of care or school.
• Facilitate Circle of Security parenting classes.
• Maintain childcare records in InSync; update Unite Us platform.
• Assist with admissions and discharges of mothers and children.
• Coordinate referrals with clinical staff as needed.
• Manage inventory of childcare supplies.
• Data collection and grant-related tasks when duties are not required.
