Partners For Child Care is seeking a Site Supervisor to oversee an Early Learning Center’s daily operations and ensure a safe, high-quality environment in compliance with California regulations.

The role provides leadership to staff, supports curriculum implementation, oversees administrative tasks, and coordinates with the Program Director to maintain program quality and family engagement.

Qualifications

• AA or 60 semester units, including 24 ECE/CD units, 6 admin units and 2 adult supervision units.
• For infant programs, 3 infant care units.
• Valid California Child Development Site Supervisor Permit required upon hire.
• At least one year of Site Supervisor experience in a licensed early childhood program.
• Current Pediatric CPR and Pediatric First Aid certification; background clearances.

Site Supervisor – Early Childhood Education

Position: Full-Time
Reports To: Program Director

Position Summary

Partners For Child Care is seeking an experienced Site Supervisor to oversee the daily operations of our Early Learning Center. The Site Supervisor is responsible for ensuring a safe, nurturing, high-quality learning environment while maintaining compliance with California Title 5 and Title 22 regulations and organizational policies.

This position provides leadership and supervision to center staff, supports curriculum implementation and professional development, oversees facility and program operations, engages with families, and assists the Program Director with administrative and compliance responsibilities.

Essential Duties & Responsibilities

Staff Leadership & Supervision

• Supervise, train, coach, and support teaching staff, aides, cooks, custodians, volunteers, and new hires.

• Conduct classroom and staff observations and provide ongoing coaching and performance feedback.

• Model positive, responsive, and developmentally appropriate interactions with children.

• Lead weekly staff meetings and maintain regular communication with the Program Director.

• Support staff professional development and curriculum implementation.

• Ensure lesson plans, progress documentation, assessments, and children's records are completed accurately and on time.

• Provide classroom or kitchen coverage when necessary to maintain appropriate staffing and program operations.

Site Operations & Compliance

• Maintain compliance with California Title 5, Title 22, licensing, and program requirements.

• Oversee the safety, cleanliness, organization, and maintenance of the facility, classrooms, outdoor areas, and equipment.

• Monitor daily cleaning and sanitation practices.

• Maintain required facility inspection, maintenance, licensing, and compliance records.

• Coordinate with vendors, contractors, custodial staff, and other service providers.

• Submit requisitions for food, snacks, classroom materials, and program supplies.

Child Development & Program Quality

• Oversee high-quality, developmentally appropriate care and education for infants, toddlers, and preschool-aged children.

• Ensure children's individual health, safety, hygiene, developmental, nutritional, and supervision needs are met.

• Conduct classroom, kitchen, and custodial observations to support safety and continuous quality improvement.

• Ensure nutritional plans and allergy requirements are followed.

• Ensure CACFP/USDA meal requirements, meal counts, menus, and required reports are completed accurately.

Curriculum & Assessment

• Support the planning, implementation, and evaluation of developmentally appropriate curriculum.

• Assist teachers with lesson planning and individualized learning experiences.

• Monitor completion of observations, assessments, attendance, progress records, and reports.

• Monitor DRDP completion and entry into the DRDP Online system.

• Support classrooms in meeting applicable ERS evaluation criteria.

• Recommend improvements that promote positive developmental outcomes for children.

Family Engagement & Enrollment

• Develop positive and professional relationships with children and families.

• Support recruitment and enrollment of eligible children and maintain an active waitlist.

• Facilitate parent meetings, conferences, open houses, and family engagement activities.

• Communicate with families regarding children's development, routines, and progress.

• Respond to parent questions or concerns promptly and professionally.

Records & Administration

• Maintain accurate child attendance and enrollment records.

• Follow up with families regarding extended child absences.

• Maintain confidential and current child and family files.

• Complete required monthly program and CACFP reports.

• Assist the Program Director with administrative and operational responsibilities as assigned.

Minimum Qualifications

Candidates must meet the following requirements:

• Associate degree (AA) or completion of at least 60 semester units, including:

  • 24 units in Early Childhood Education/Child Development (ECE/CD), including required core courses

  • 6 units in administration

  • 2 units in adult supervision

• For infant programs, at least 3 qualifying units in infant care

• Valid California Child Development Site Supervisor Permit issued by the California Commission on Teacher Credentialing (CTC) required upon hire

• At least oneyear of experience serving in a Site Supervisor capacity in a licensed early childhood program

• Current Pediatric CPR and Pediatric First Aid certification

• Ability to successfully complete all required background and health clearances

Preferred Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree that includes applicable Early Childhood Education/Child Development coursework

• 3 units of supervised field experience

• Bilingual English/Spanish preferred

• Strong leadership, communication, organizational, and problem-solving skills

• Experience supervising and developing early childhood education staff

Employment Requirements

Employment is contingent upon successful completion and maintenance of applicable requirements, including:

• Pre-employment physical and TB Risk Assessment

• MMR, Tdap, and Influenza immunization documentation or applicable exemption

• DOJ, FBI, and Child Abuse Central Index (CACI) background clearances

• Mandated Reporter Training

• Required licensing and employment documentation

Physical Requirements

The Site Supervisor must be able to perform the essential physical functions of an early childhood education environment, including standing, walking, bending, crouching, kneeling, and assisting with children's daily care. The position may require lifting and carrying children weighing up to approximately 45 pounds.

The Site Supervisor must also be able to remain attentive to children's health, safety, supervision, and developmental needs and respond appropriately to emergencies or other situations that may arise.
