Qualifications

• Professional experience in a human/social service or health care agency with planning or evaluation responsibilities may substitute for the educational requirement.

Responsibilities

• Oversee the child care background check team and cover day‑to‑day duties during staff vacancies.
• Decide on policy and procedures for background checks.
• Determine eligibility of prospective child care employees per regulations.
• Ensure fingerprint-based background check renewals occur as required.
• Collect data and generate reports on employment determinations.
• Represent the department at contested ineligibility hearings.
• Interact with licensees, applicants, the public and others about background check requirements via presentations, emails and phone.
