Novant Health’s Learning Place at Forsyth Medical Center in Winston-Salem, NC, is seeking a Child Care Lead Teacher II for the Today's Child Development Center. This full-time position delivers high-quality early childhood education in a safe, nurturing setting and collaborates with families and staff to support child growth.

The role requires a 2-year degree (AA/AAS accepted) in Early Childhood or related field, plus relevant certifications and 2+ years of childcare experience.

Qualifications

• Two year Associates Degree is required.
• AA/AAS degree in Early Childhood or related field as defined by DHHS Division of Child Development Education unit.
• Minimum of 2-year verifiable experience in a childcare center, or experience working with children up to 12 years of age.
• NC Credentials or equivalency defined by regulatory compliance Division of Child Development Workforce Unit, required.
• Adult and Pediatric CPR/First Aid within 2 months of hire, required.
• ITS SIDS training within 2 months of hire (infants up to 12 months)
• Background checks: DHHS NC Division of Child Development Criminal Background Letter (renewal every 5 years) and Workforce letter or education verification until workforce letter is obtained.
• BSAC for school-age children; CDL if driving buses; various required letters within 2 months of hire.
• ITS SIDS training within 2 months for classrooms with infants under 2 years.

Hours: Full-Time | Monday–Friday, 9:00 AM – 6:00 PM or 9:30 AM- 6:30 PM

What We’re Looking For

• Education:Two year Associates Degree, required. AA/AAS degree in Early Childhood or related field as defined by DHHS Division of Child Development Education unit.
• Experience: minimum of 2-year verifiable experience in a childcare center, or years of experience working with children up to 12 years of age, required.
• Licensure/Certification: NC Credentials or equivalency defined by regulatory compliance Division of Child Development Workforce Unit, required. Adult and Pediatric CPR/First Aid within 2 months of hire, required. ITS SIDS (Sudden Infant Death Syndrome) within 2 months of hire (infants up to 12 months of age)of age), required.
• Additional Skills (required):
  • DHHS NC Division of Child Development Criminal Background Letter (required renewal every 5 years), and Workforce letter (within 60 days of hire) or education verification until workforce letter is obtain.
  • Ability to successfully complete generic and department-specific skills validation and competency testing.
  • BSAC required for those working with school age children. CDL for school age if driving the buses. NC Division of Child Development Qualifying Letter/Criminal Background letter NC Division of Child Development Workforce letter within 2 months of hire NC Institute for Child Development Professional ECE Certification within 2 months of hire
  • CPR/First Aid completion within 2 months of hire.
  • ITS SIDS (Sudden Infant Death Syndrome training) for teachers work in the classroom infants up to 2years of age within 2 months of hire.
• Additional Skills/Requirements (preferred): Playground Safety training
