Novant Health Learning Place at Thomasville Medical Center in Thomasville, NC is seeking a Child Care Lead Teacher II for a full-time, daytime schedule. You will provide a safe, nurturing learning environment and partner with families and staff to deliver high-quality early childhood education.

Requirements include an Associate degree in Early Childhood or related field, 2+ years of childcare experience, NC credentials or equivalent, CPR/First Aid and SIDS training within 2 months of hire, and

• Minimum of 2 years verifiable childcare experience.
• NC Credentials or equivalency defined by regulatory compliance Division of Child Development Workforce Unit required.
• Adult and Pediatric CPR/First Aid within 2 months of hire required.
• ITS SIDS training within 2 months of hire (infants up to 12 months) required.
• Background checks and competency validations required within hire period.

Location: The Learning Place at Thomasville Medical Center

Hours: Full-Time | Monday–Friday, 8:45AM-5:45PM or 9:00AM-6:00PM

• Provide a warm, safe, and nurturing learning experience that supports each child’s unique development
• Uphold the center’s goals, guidelines, and high standards of care
• Ensure full compliance with North Carolina Division of Child Development regulations and Health Department sanitation requirements
• Foster a positive and inclusive environment where children, families, and team members feel valued and supported

What We're Looking For

• Education:Two year Associates Degree, required. AA/AAS degree in Early Childhood or related field as defined by DHHS Division of Child Development Education unit.
• Experience Required:Minimum of 2-year verifiable experience in a childcare center, or years of experience working with children up to 12 years of age, required.
• Licensure/Certification/Registration Required:NC Credentials or equivalency defined by regulatory compliance Division of Child Development Workforce Unit, required. Adult and Pediatric CPR/First Aid within 2 months of hire, required. ITS SIDS (Sudden Infant Death Syndrome) within 2 months of hire (infants up to 12 months of age)of age), required.
• Additional Skills Required:
  • DHHS NC Division of Child Development Criminal Background Letter (required renewal every 5 years), and Workforce letter (within 60 days of hire) or education verification until workforce letter is obtain.
  • Ability to successfully complete generic and department-specific skills validation and competency testing.
  • BSAC required for those working with school age children. CDL for school age if driving the buses. NC Division of Child Development Qualifying Letter/Criminal Background letter NC Division of Child Development Workforce letter within 2 months of hire NC Institute for Child Development Professional ECE Certification within 2 months of hire
  • CDL license (if hired for driving buses) and working with school age children.
  • Maintain training hours requirements as outlined by the Division of Child Development
• Additional Skills Preferred:Playground safety.
