Job summary

The Learning Experience – Banning Lewis Ranch in Colorado Springs is seeking an experienced Child Care Center Director to lead our licensed early education center for infants through preschool. You will drive enrollment growth, develop a strong team, and ensure licensing and safety standards are met.

As a center leader, you will oversee daily operations, cultivate a positive culture, coach staff, and partner with families to deliver exceptional experiences aligned with the L.E.A.P. Curriculum.

Qualifications

• 10+ years of leadership experience in licensed childcare/preschool/early childhood education.
• Must meet Colorado Large Child Care Center Director qualification requirements and PDIS requirements.
• Early Childhood Education coursework and qualifying supervisory experience.
• Working knowledge of Colorado childcare licensing requirements.
• Strong organizational, communication, problem-solving, and leadership skills.
• Comfortable using technology and data to manage operations and performance.

Responsibilities

• Create a positive, professional, and collaborative school culture.
• Maintain compliance with Colorado childcare licensing, health and safety requirements, and organizational standards.
• Oversee staffing, scheduling, labor, records, reporting, and key operational priorities.
• Maintain organized and accurate administrative systems.
• Recruit, hire, onboard, coach, and retain qualified teachers and leaders.
• Conduct classroom observations, performance evaluations, coaching, and professional development.
• Set clear expectations and provide consistent feedback and accountability.
• Develop employees through coaching, mentoring, and follow-through.
• Create exceptional experiences for current and prospective families.
• Lead center tours, enrollment follow-up, and family retention efforts.
• Build positive and professional relationships with families.
• Support implementation of the L.E.A.P. Curriculum; conduct health/safety walkthroughs; ensure engaging learning experiences.

• Maintain accurate employee files, child files, training records, and licensing documentation.
• Address health, safety, supervision, and compliance concerns promptly.

Required Qualifications

• 10+ years of leadership experience in a licensed childcare, preschool, or early childhood education program.
• Must meet Colorado Large Child Care Center Director qualification requirements and applicable PDIS requirements.

Preferred Qualifications

• Associate's or Bachelor's degree in Early Childhood Education, Child Development, Education, Business Administration, or related field.
• Experience as a Center Director, School Director, Preschool Director, or senior Assistant Director.
• Experience with enrollment growth, accreditation, quality improvement, employee retention, and family satisfaction.
