The Granite YMCA is seeking Associate Teachers for their Early Learning team. This role involves supporting high-quality early childhood programs and assisting with curriculum implementation while creating a safe, engaging environment for children.

Ideal candidates will work closely with Lead Teachers, guiding classroom operations and mentoring Assistant Teachers. Applicants should have a passion for early childhood education and be ready to take on leadership responsibilities.

Qualifications

• Must meet state licensing requirements as an Associate Teacher.
• CPR/AED and First Aid certifications are required or willingness to obtain.
• Experience working with young children is preferred.
• Strong communication, leadership, and teamwork skills are essential.
• A positive, patient, and nurturing approach to early childhood education is necessary.

Responsibilities

• Support the classroom following YMCA standards and NH State licensing requirements.
• Create a safe, nurturing, and engaging environment for children.
• Build relationships with children and families while maintaining confidentiality.
• Lead classroom activities, including curriculum implementation and meals.
• Guide and mentor Assistant Teachers for a cohesive classroom experience.
• Monitor attendance and behavior, acting as classroom lead when necessary.
• Model YMCA core values: caring, honesty, respect, and responsibility.
• Respond to incidents and emergencies according to YMCA procedures.
• Collaborate on classroom operations with Lead Teachers and Program Director.

As an Associate Teacher, you will work closely with Lead Teachers to guide daily classroom operations, mentor Assistant Teachers, and ensure a cohesive, developmentally appropriate program.
