Lifesteps is hiring several Full-Time or Part-time Childcare Assistants to work at the Daycare and Preschool in Beaver, PA.

Lifesteps is a non-profit human services organization which has been serving Western Pennsylvania for over 100 years by "helping individuals and families with life's changing needs". The Agency provides programs and services to help those with special needs live to their fullest potential. Child Care staff (also known as Assistant Group Supervisors) work an 8 hour shift Monday through Friday, daylight hours, with No Weekends and No Holidays. Part-time staff can work 6 to 8 hours several days per week. Flexible scheduling is available for part-time.

Job duties include

• the care and supervision of children, ages 6 weeks to 5 years old
• assisting with lesson planning and creating fun activities
• supervising indoor and outdoor play time
• inform parents about the child's day
• Nurture and cuddle the infants and teach the preschool age children

Qualifications

Required

• High School Diploma/GED and two years of experience working with children - can be paid or unpaid work such as Summer Camps, Church Nursery, Babysitting, Bible School, Volunteering with children, etc.
• Ability to lift or move up to 30 pounds without assistance
• Ability to provide acceptable state and FBI clearances
• Able to multi-task and work in a team environment.
  
  

Preferred

• Bachelor's Degree in Early Childhood Education, Child Development, Special Education, Elementary Education, or Human Services field -- OR --
• Associates Degree in the above majors or Psychology, Criminal Justice, Art Therapy, Dance Therapy, Rehabilitation, etc.
