Job summary

BrightPath Kids in Wallingford, CT is seeking a Teacher Assistant to support teachers and families in a safe, nurturing environment. You will assist with activities, supervision, and daily routines, following NAEYC guidelines, and help create a home-away-from-home feel for children aged 6 weeks to 12 years.

Full-time hours offered (7:30 AM–4:30 PM or 8:00 AM–5:00 PM) with paid training on classroom procedures, a childcare discount for employees, and a path for professional development and growth

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or equivalent is required.
• Strong customer service skills.
• Ability to multitask and stay organized.
• Ability to work within regular operating hours.
• Must meet state criteria for child care employment.

Responsibilities

• Ensuring the safety and supervision of children ages 6 weeks - 12 years.
• Assisting teachers with instruction in the classroom.
• Decorating inside and outside of classrooms as needed.
• Maintaining a warm and safe environment that is clean and permits children to grow and explore.
• Interacting with children to encourage their involvement in activities.
• Providing effective communication with parents/guardians about their child.
