Job summary

BrightPath Kids in West Hartford, CT is seeking a Teacher Assistant to work with teachers and families, following NAEYC guidelines. This full-time role includes paid training on classroom procedures and a supportive team.

You will supervise children ages 6 weeks to 12 years, assist instruction, decorate spaces, maintain a warm, safe, and clean environment, engage children in activities, and communicate with parents to support each child’s growth.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or equivalent required.
• Strong customer service skills.
• Ability to multitask and stay organized.
• Ability to work within regular operating hours.
• Must meet state criteria for child care employment.

Responsibilities

• Ensuring the safety and supervision of children ages 6 weeks – 12 years.
• Assisting teachers with instruction in the classroom.
• Decorating inside and outside of classrooms as needed.
• Maintaining a warm and safe environment that is clean and permits children to grow and explore.
• Interacting with children to encourage their involvement in activities.
• Providing effective communication with parents/guardians about their child.
