Kids After Hours in Silver Spring, MD is seeking a part-time staff member to assist with morning and afternoon care for school-age children. The role emphasizes hands-on supervision, engaging activities, and positive role modeling for kids.

Applicants should be patient, energetic, and capable of developing clubs and activities based on children's interests. Shifts run Monday through Friday, 7:00–9:30 a.m. and 3:00–6:30 p.m., with opportunities to contribute to program planning.

Qualifications

• At least 1-2 years experience working with children.
• Ability to lead, plan, organize, and implement program activities.
• Ability to work as a member of a team and the ability to accomplish tasks with little direct supervision.
• Strong organizational and communication skills.
• You must be 16 years old or older.

Responsibilities

• Assist with set-up/clean-up of the room, preparing snack, implementing or setting up/cleaning up activities.
• Organize, label, and replace equipment, games, and toys.
• Provide hands-on supervision for kids, ensuring safety and active engagement.
• Organize and lead a variety of small and large group activities, such as crafts, nature, songs, games, and Kids Night Out.
• Interact positively with children and model appropriate behaviors.
• Assist with parent drop-off and pick-up, and communicate with parents about participant experiences and concerns to leadership.
• Follow all safety guidelines and emergency procedures; ensure children's safety and whereabouts.
