Job summary

Bradley Hospital seeks a Behavioral Health Specialist II to join the interdisciplinary treatment team caring for children and adolescents in a psychiatric setting. The role supports the day-to-day schedule, supervises milieu activities, and documents clinical observations under the direction of a Registered Nurse.

Candidates must have a foundational degree in a human services field, with the ability to stay calm in crisis situations and to mentor junior staff.

Qualifications

• BASIC KNOWLEDGE: Baccalaureate Degree in a Human Service field preferred; other education and experience may be substituted at hiring manager's discretion.
• Demonstrates aptitude and willingness to learn role-related skills.
• Knowledge to provide care to patients across the life span with consideration of aging processes, development, and culture.

Responsibilities

• Maintains the milieu as delegated by the Charge RN and reports variations immediately.
• Functions independently in competence areas in delivery of childcare.
• Uses safe crisis management techniques and supports innovative changes to improve milieu care.
• Provides guidance and role Modeling to less-senior staff; orients new staff under supervision.
• Communicates concerns to appropriate leadership and participates in safety and risk assessment.
