Job summary

Hennepin Arts in Minneapolis seeks a Chief Venue Officer to join the executive team and drive strategic growth across operations. Reporting to the President/CEO, the CVO leads cross-functional teams to align venue operations with the mission and ensure efficient, scalable performance.

The role emphasizes governance, innovation, budgeting, and collaboration with shared services to optimize technology, processes, and staffing across multiple venues.

Qualifications

• 10+ years in senior leadership, preferably nonprofit/arts.
• Strategic planning, project mgmt, and business development expertise.
• Venue management including box office, FOH, production.
• Strong communication and leadership to inspire cross-functional teams.
• Analytical skills to interpret data and drive decisions.

Responsibilities

• Provide executive leadership aligned with the President/CEO vision.
• Guide shared services leaders to align organizational goals.
• Advise President/CEO on opportunities and operational impact.
• Oversee venue operations, technology, processes, and staffing.
• Manage budgets and resource allocation for venue goals.
• Ensure projects are on time and within budget.
• Promote system-wide integration and policy enforcement.
• Drive continuous improvement and data-driven decisions.
