Job summary

The Department of Cardiovascular and Thoracic Surgery at Dell Medical School seeks a board-certified Vascular Surgeon to lead the Section of Vascular Surgery. This clinic-based academic program offers opportunities in clinical practice, research, and teaching.

The Chief will recruit and retain faculty, expand regional referral networks, set strategic goals, and advance quality initiatives while guiding medical student education and GME activities across Dell Seton and affiliated centers.

Qualifications

• Medical degree from an accredited medical school.
• Current Board certification in Vascular Surgery or board eligible.
• Unrestricted license to practice medicine in Texas (or ability to obtain).
• Ability to work in a collaborative, multidisciplinary academic environment.
• Excellent clinical teaching skills.
• Innovative self-starter with a commitment to excellence.
• Excellent communication, problem solving, and organizational skills.
• Eligible for appointment at Associate Professor or Professor rank.

Responsibilities

• Provide comprehensive vascular care across a clinical system and affiliated hospitals.
• Foster faculty success, satisfaction, retention, and growth of academic and clinical activities.
• Ensure division meets quality standards in outcomes, processes, and patient experience.
• Deliver high-quality clinical care, on-call coverage, and teaching duties.
• Build strong relationships with academic partners, physicians, and affiliated partners.
• Contribute to medical student education and general surgery resident training.
• Engage in clinical research, quality improvement, and scholarly activities.
• Collaborate to advance vascular care through teaching and program development.
