About the Role

VitalBeing is seeking a visionary Chief Technology Officer to lead our AI and engineering organization. As CTO, you will define and execute our technology roadmap, oversee the development of our clinical intelligence platform, mental health insights engine, and financial wellness tools. You will report directly to the CEO and serve as a key member of the executive leadership team.

Responsibilities

• Develop and optimize distributed, service-oriented datastore products, enabling secure query processing and encryption for large-scale applications while improving data security compliance
• Automate CI/CD pipelines, deployment, and scaling of telemetry and infrastructure agents using cloud-native technologies such as AWS, Kubernetes, and Terraform to ensure high availability, system reliability, and reduced operational overhead
• Design and implement caching mechanisms for high-throughput micro-services to reduce query latency, improve response times, and drive measurable uplift in customer conversions and platform performance
• Deliver end-to-end products by driving development, gathering requirements from multiple stakeholders, ensuring quality, managing release cycles, and aligning across global product teams to accelerate regional launches
• Architect and re-engineer multi-threaded caching and data systems to enable real-time personalization and drive meaningful revenue impact across the platform
• Champion knowledge sharing across the organization on AI, caching strategies, and distributed systems, enabling cross-team adoption of best practices and improving overall delivery efficiency

Preferred Qualifications

• 15+ years of experience in software engineering, with 5+ years in a CTO, VP of Engineering, or Founder role
• Deep expertise in AI/ML, including experience deploying production machine learning systems at scale
• Proven track record in healthcare technology, biotech, or regulated industries
• Experience building and leading engineering teams of 50+ people
• Strong understanding of cloud infrastructure, data pipelines, and MLOps
• Familiarity with healthcare data standards (HL7, FHIR) and regulatory requirements (HIPAA, FDA)
• PhD or MS in Computer Science, AI/ML, or a related field preferred
• Exceptional communication skills with the ability to translate technical concepts for non-technical stakeholders
