Technology Partners is seeking a CTO & Head of Engineering in the United States to shape the tech vision and lead a fast-growing engineering team. The role partners with executives to align technical initiatives with business goals, overseeing architecture, platform development, and operations for scalable growth.

The candidate will drive AI initiatives, cloud infrastructure, and product strategy, while mentoring engineers and maintaining high standards of security and reliability.

Qualifications

• 10+ years of software engineering and technology leadership experience.
• CTO/Head of Engineering or similar senior role in startup or high-growth SaaS.
• Hands-on AI products involving LLMs, RAG, conversational AI, TTS.
• Familiarity with simulation, avatars, animation, gaming, or interactive digital experiences.
• Strong cloud architecture, data infrastructure, security, and best practices.
• Ability to evaluate tradeoffs and clearly communicate recommendations.
• Proven track record leading teams through rapid growth and product evolution.
• Bachelor’s degree in CS/Engineering; advanced degrees preferred.

What You Will Be Doing

You will serve as the strategic leader within our engineering team, responsible for shaping and executing the technology vision for a fast-growing startup. You will partner closely with executive leadership to align technical initiatives with overall business objectives. In this role, you will oversee architecture, platform development, and operational excellence while mentoring a high-performing engineering organization. Day-to-day, you will evaluate emerging technologies, make key build-versus-buy decisions, and communicate risks and opportunities to stakeholders. This is a leadership role that combines technical expertise with business acumen to drive innovation and scalable growth. This is a direct hire position with significant influence on product and company success.

Key Responsibilities

• Develop and lead the overall technology strategy, architecture, and infrastructure.
• Drive engineering execution with defined priorities, timelines, and accountability.
• Build, mentor, and scale a talented engineering team capable of supporting rapid growth.
• Collaborate with Product, Operations, and Leadership to translate business goals into technical plans.
• Lead architecture decisions across AI, large language models (LLMs), retrieval-augmented generation (RAG), text-to-speech (TTS), animation, and cloud infrastructure.
• Assess technical approaches, vendor solutions, and build-versus-buy options to maximize speed, cost-efficiency, and quality.
• Ensure platform reliability, security, compliance, and operational excellence.
• Communicate technical risks, timelines, tradeoffs, and opportunities clearly to leadership and stakeholders.
• Stay current with emerging AI, cloud, and simulation technologies to maintain competitive advantage.
• Foster a culture of ownership, accountability, innovation, and continuous improvement.

Required Skills & Experience

• 10+ years of software engineering and technology leadership experience.
• Proven experience as a CTO, VP Engineering, Head of Engineering, or similar senior technical role within a startup or high-growth SaaS environment.
• Hands-on experience with AI-powered products using LLMs, RAG, conversational AI, TTS, and related technologies.
• Familiarity with simulation, avatars, animation, gaming, or interactive digital experiences.
• Strong knowledge of cloud architecture, data infrastructure, security, and best practices.
• Ability to evaluate complex tradeoffs across technical, product, financial, and operational dimensions and communicate recommendations effectively.
• Demonstrated success leading engineering teams through periods of rapid growth and product evolution.
• Excellent communication, leadership, and business acumen.
• Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or related field; advanced degrees or relevant certifications preferred.

• Industry experience in AI, simulation, or digital training sectors.
• Familiarity with large language models, generative AI, or related frameworks.
